Software

The AXYZ PANELBuilder software includes both 2D and 3D functionality as well as nesting and automatic toolpath creation.

It has been designed to significantly reduce the time that programmers require to create the large quantities of standard panels they have to design on a day to day basis. Once a panel has been drawn it can be saved with parametric values for recall at any time, change sizes to the panel and then save to be nested using AXYZ nesting solutions.

Panels are saved together with their toolpaths in job specific folders and can be loaded into the nest scheduler and nested either on theor own or with other jobs that are using the same material. Material waste can be reduced further by allowing the nester to automatically add filler parts whenever sufficient material is left over. Part used sheets can be saved and re-used when appropriate.

The software has been developed by working closely with leading suppliers in the ACM industry such as Euroclad who are based in the UK. Nick Jenkins, Divisional Manager of Euroclad’s Facades Division is very encouraged by PanelBuilder. “We were involved in its development from the outset so we know its exactly what we need. Axyz PanelBuilder has made our operation much more efficient. Normally we would have had to create a separate program for each panel, even when the only variation is in length, but with PanelBuilder we can import a list of lengths and let the software do the rest. We can also visualise panels in 3D and then unfold them to create the CNC code automatically. Its nesting capability helps us reduce sheet wastage too. 	Parametric Templates A library of standard panel templates can be created using the built in 2D CAD system. Multiple copies of these panels can then be created with any desired dimensions with just a few mouse clicks. All panels will have material type, nesting parameters a project reference and quantities defined. Auto Panel Creation from Spreadsheet Data This is a huge timesaver on large projects and allows hundreds or even thousands of panels to be created in seconds by importing data from a spreadsheet. The data can include panel type, dimensions, material grain direction requirements and more. Batch Import If you have a lot of panel designs supplied by a customer or created in other CAD systems, these can be easily imported in a single operation using industry standard DXF and DWG formats
	Nesting and Material Optimisation PanelBuilder contains a sophisticated nesting algorithm which can save an enormous amount of time and significantly reduce waste. The nesting process allows full control of settings such as panel orientation for grain alignment, clearance between parts, common line cutting, part priority and many more. Instant nesting feedback including material utilization allows alternative solutions to be easily assessed.
	Automated Machine Programming Creating the NC programs for the AXYZ PANELBuilder router couldn't be easier. Whatever your machine configuration, the programs are automatically generated ready for downloading to the machine and cutting. Detailed job sheets are printed for the operator to ensure the right material is loaded for each job. Auto Scrap Cut Lines Where scrap is unavoidable, the machine can be programmed to automatically cut this into smaller pieces for easier removal and disposal. Labelling Automatic label generation makes it easy to identify and keep track of manufactured panels at later assmbly and finishing stages. Labels can be printed or even engraved on the panel and barcode labelling is also supported.
