The PANELBuilder solution is designed to process all types of composite sheet materials such as Alucobond (Alcan Composites), Alpolic (Mitsubishi Chemical), Reynobond (Alcoa) and others.

These composites are mainly formed of thin aluminium skins surrounding a polyethylene core to give an overall sheet thickness of usually 3mm – 6mm.

Sometimes the skin will be some other metal instead of aluminium such as stainless steel, titanium, copper or zinc. Many fabricators will also work with solid aluminium wall panels, usually 4mm thick.

The AXYZ PANELBuilder CNC routers can cut all of these materials provided the correct tooling and cutting parameters are used. For example, when cutting the stainless steel and titanium materials, it is normally advisable to use the misting unit to keep the tooling cool.

AXYZ engineers are able to offer advice and assistance on how best to machine a wide range of different materials in order to get the best possible edge finish, highest productivity and maximum tool life.
